Common Ground

In the scorching heat of the desert,

Where life forms shrivel and die,

Easier than thought,

In the last inch of life,

We come over,

The huge sand dune,

And see the nothing,

The sadness overcoming,

Our minds,

Desperate to finish us off,

But we won’t give up,

We come to the start,

Of an oasis,

Something to live on,

Something to cling to,

Something to save us,

That’s when it comes up,

A fish called friendship,

Floating and our dinner,

We catch it,

Try hard as we could,

Finally succeeding,

In our friendship,

We connect.
